| I was on medications for about 5 years. I started taking anti-depressants right
after high school. I started off with Prozac. I didn't like the affect it had on me so my
doctor switched me to Wellibutrin. I was on that for about 3 years when my body may have
come accustom to it because I fell back into a depression. I went back to my doctor and he
prescribed me a new medication called Effexor. Taking that anti-depressant was the worst
mistake I could have made. Soon after taking that medication I was worse than I had ever
been in my life. This medication made me think suicidal thoughts, and I fell into an even
deeper depression than I was already in. After only taking this medication for about 2
weeks, I had to go off of it and try something different. I then took a different approach
and went to talk to a therapist. She prescribed me Lexapro(for depression) and a
medication for anxiety which was also a mood stabilizer.(I don't remember the name of it)
I was seeing a therapist for a few months. I thought I was going to be on medication for
the rest of my life and there was no other way to treat my depression. Going to a
therapist made me feel better for that hour I was there, but as soon as I left her
office I didn't feel like anything was accomplished. I then started going to Dr. Rossi
and he has changed my life. I am off of my medications, and have been off of them for about a year now.
I feel like a whole different person. I've never felt better than I do now. Every time I
leave his office I feel like something was accomplished.
Sincerely, Val |
